The population is gathering on the dancing-ground of the village to perform a ceremony by which harmful spirits are expelles from the village. Each household brings in a bowl ashes, cooked rice, rags and dry banana leaves to distribute them on two litters. After the recitation of a religious text by the priest, the two litters are carried seven times around the population gathered in the centre of the dancing-ground, then brought to the outskirts of the village and placed beside the way.
